ESOTERA AND THE CASUALTIES

“Glowers” refers to the children who inherit q-DNA with potential for augments. But they often become “casualties”, separated from their families, kidnapped or exploited in a race to find them before the competition.

Esotera, the Mystic Destroyer was always a misleading nickname – she is not a mystic, rather a futurist practiced in controlled alteration of atomic and subatomic particle interactions in her vicinity.

Esotera first gains public attention as an academic and lecturer warning about illegally-enhanced humans internationally kidnapping gifted children. Esotera was levitating as a child, though the practice was first classified by any government in tricks proven at side shows and universities, until one show went sideways when the Witch bride of Isaacston first appeared, tied to a terrorist cell, they went underground and less than a year after raided three houses kidnapping kids suspected of psychic ability.

A dark corporate future

LEAD IN TIMELINE (Female narrator): By the 2070s, corporate consolidation had fundamentally changed North America. Private equity firms merged under a compact run by the DeHuburton market algorithms, issuing decisions that allowed a few large companies to “corner the market” in every industry. Built into the calculus was venture capital seeding of small businesses to stave off antitrust suits but the small businesses never grew past an algorithm-imposed limits with the lion’s share of the marketplace – of all marketplaces – tightly controlled by a few very wealthy families and multinationals who would all eventually be acquired by the WalCo consortium – or meet mysterious fates such as disappearances, poisonings or plane crashes.

2097 – The algorithm spit out a bold acquisition plan, purchasing Ogle, the world’s biggest web browser despite an incredibly steep price tag. The purchase was kept secret via NDAs for over 20 years, concealing the change of ownership at which time the pages appearing on the web were altered, adding decoy information as any public data with monetization potential was moved to a private subscription mode for a dwindling number of elite clients.

12/22/2112 – The Duke is born in South Dakota

2117 – Acquisition details leaked, private clients boycotted and quickly dropped until only WalCo had access to the “TruWeb” and as of April 2112, one hundred years of data housed on OgleDrive.

2148 – the private corporation WalCo started selling “lifestyle packages”, essentially an all-in-one subscription-based model for housing, food, water, healthcare, childcare, education, comms, transport, gym, banking, vacay, retirement, funeral and even piped-in designer air. They became the richest company in human history by far, with 11 million employees and 40 million robots. The DeHubertons were the family who owned WalCo, multi-trillionaires with a long history of generational corruption from illegal campaign financing to bribery, corporate espionage and sabotage, union-busting, insider trading, blackmail, extortion and every manner of consumer fraud including deceptive advertising, product safety and environmental violations, toxic dumping and gross indifference. No one was ever held accountable as an army of lawyers, accountants and increasingly large militarized security details held the government at bay.

2159 – The birth of Esotera

2163 – Anticipating government intervention for their monopolistic practices and corporate bad behavior, WalCo split up into 42 spin-off companies, some regional and some industry-specific, like USSchoolHouse who ran their charter school network The most popular was Amerizon, but the largest finance corporation was CapitalCo which was giving away bribe money in almost every state when caught taking the money back in spades with thousands of ghost employees. USGOV scrapped planned anti-trade and trust-busting hearings, but it was discovered seven years later in 2170 the spin-offs were a sham, a facade of competition as the companies all coordinated in secret and funneled profits right back to the DeHubertons.

Court Cases:

In several instances, the DeHubertons were suspected for foul play, as in the disappearance of hard-charging US Attorney General Maven Dirks and multiple trade commissioners, regulators, financial auditors and media critics. With millions of WalCo customers closely monitored and datamined, the vast majority were fearful to speak out for fear of reprisal.

By the 2160s, the Mayo Twins had begun consolidating arable farmland across the US and building sustainable loops, anticipating the need to return to agrarianism and self-sufficient mini-societies.

2168 – with fresh evidence of fraud and renewed bipartisan outrage, calls went out for dissolution and massive fines. The family’s private equity fund was so large however, they were able to manipulate markets and made a hostile run on USGOV debt, tanking the dollar in a squeeze play. The company went harder on offense, revealing their latest product release, called The Fairness Plan which promised to displace the government entirely, encouraging customers to opt out of taxes and delivery of public services. They promised legal protection for anyone refusing to pay federal or state taxes, an attractive selling point for a huge following of “seshies”, or secessionist supporters. They claimed it wasn’t just WalCo but a diverse range of other companies getting into the marketplace as an example of the superiority and efficiency of capitalism, paying to relocate customers to friendly states and counties if they were unhappy paying taxes.

2174 – Buy-in for The Fairness Plan was strong across all the ideologies, as “diverse” companies sprung up with different delivery models. Realtopia and RisingTide were the largest left-leaning “cooperatives” using socialist-styled “monetary pooling” distribution systems and mutual aid networks. The far-right merit-based FreeMarketTrust had a “bootstrap” framework with a market-based network of vendors and service providers that could attend to any need.

“The Plan” was riding high, with huge swaths of the nation’s business sector and “worker collectives” joining together in anticipation of the Great Tax Boycott of 2176, just in time for the US quadricentennial, they would encourage all Americans to “declare independence”, dissolving the government, refusing to vote and stop paying taxes to bankrupt USGOV. The public debate was fierce with instances of civil unrest popping up, mostly in “public” cities besieged by poverty and overcrowding, violence usually being touched off by staged false flag events.

2176 – Things were going downhill for USGOV. A blockbuster report exposed WalCo for deceptive practices again. A document dump revealed every one of the major Fairness Plan entities and most of the smaller ones were all secretly owned and controlled by the DeHubertons, only pretending to compete publicly, even as they engaged in rancorous public feuds. They were all faked. The financial implications were staggering, as all the private currencies were linked, the market valuations of every members’s savings, whether conservative or socialist, were puffery, a fraction of the publicly displayed values. The DeHubertons were skimming the whole time, but even beyond the monetary grift was the value derived from personal data. This “total” surveillance which would have been illegal in traditional jurisdictions collected over 180,000 longitudinal “predilection/ personality profile points” mined per user. Their algorithms anticipated decision-making and fed education, media and entertainment propaganda they called “inputs” for easy manipulation of behavior.

Multiple versions of “economic ideologies” were manipulatively marketed separately to customers depending on their political leanings and to draw them in to a final decision to stick with USGOV or exercise “choice” by aggressively pushing the option of “free will” upon them using teaser cash bonuses, loans or free “loss leader” products and services even including housing.

Part One: The coming of ESOTERA

It started as a hard luck story. 2159. Baby Esther is born. Esther Aline Mulligan. Green eyes and auburn locks. The mom was a 14-year old in foster care who ran away, got impregnated in a trap house. Through intervention by the sentient Shankra, the baby was placed with couple of renowned science professors who hid a secret life as radical activist genetic engineers, taking part in a secret society nicknamed The Quantum Druids. By day they published groundbreaking research on physical phenomena in study of quantum entanglement, but off the books they were delving deep into the role of quantum entanglement and quantum tunneling in evolutionary biology, including conducting live experiments.

Growing up in an off-grid scientific compound disguised as an “hippie” commune nestled into private woods, Esotera was a wild one, given to “flights of fancy”. She believed she lived in an alternate world called OpenCeiling in which children had supernatural powers.

Esotera’s peers grew from 15 to 20 to 30 kids growing up in the forest adjacent to their parents communal lab compound in Northwest Arrowstock, Maine where they advanced genetic physics and were building a secretive machine. The kids were not allowed inside a giant hangar where they were super colliding atoms for gain of function research. Very controversial because discoveries could be weaponized, so leaning politically left, they broke away and created a commune with all of their combined research and patent money, but the children were an issue, going from babies to teens, they sensed the urgency of their parents work and knew it was part of an arms race with military implications, growing up hidden and apart from society, with a definite lack of parental supervision, combined with curiosity and self reliance, they formed very special bonds with one another.

Esotera organized the others in the group, building a separate “base camp” network of treehouses which amazed the adults. Imitating their parents, the children conducted “experiments” in their own “labs” using materials from nature and refuse found along nearby roads and streams. They were self-schooled, with a language of invented words and phrases and inside references the parents found perplexing. The adults, meanwhile were pioneering research in particle physics and genetic engineering, running tests on birds and rodents. The kids claimed to have made fascinating discoveries in OpenCeiling, which parents viewed as “tall tales”. Parents also got upset about kids staying out too late or secretly sneaking out into the tree village, but Esotera vigorously defended herself pointing out that the parents were out late in their labs just as often, causing some consternation and reflection among the moms.

Then an episode occurred where the kids created a spectacular light show seen by the adults above the treetops that they couldn’t or wouldn’t explain. The younger kids were interrogated but defaulted to words and meanings parents couldn’t understand.

After almost two years of this, some of the parents came to feel Esotera was brainwashing the other children and insisted they be separated. The children resisted however, insisting the realities of the adult world were brainwashing them. They vowed to remain with Esotera in OpenCeiling. Despite being physically separated, the children were still in communication, vexing the parents as to how after all devices were confiscated. Moreover, the children had all began talking about “preparing” and “training” for some dreadful yet unspecified calamitous event, which was the last straw for the parents.

To appease the community, Esotera’s parents sent her off to a prestigious boarding school, causing both her and the other children great separation anxiety and anguish. When the transport arrived, Esotera had to be literally ripped from the other children’s arms. They were inconsolable. But Draj and Madi didn’t know they were still communicating. They had previously exchanged hair clippings, braiding locks into eachothers hair, and also dug deep crescents into eachothers arms with their fingernails. They were also exchanging blood regularly for years, pricking their fingers in what Dr. Leowoch would later call “bio-entangled array” as she herself experimented with a frequency-resonance lattice bridges between life forms.

Esotera arrived at Arbetter’s Classical Education Conservatory, withdrawn and sullen. She was quickly expelled after levitating, accused of “occult practices”. which landed her in a military school known for rigid discipline. Instead of fighting authority there however, Esotera, now sporting premature silver streaks in her bright auburn hair, surprised everyone and became an A+ student and elite athlete with a specialty in advanced combat training skills and a penchant for military history and all types of warfare. She stopped mentioning the dark prophesies for the future…to adults, but continued communicating to her tree family through meetings in the astral plane, and continued directing their activities in secret for years.

Esotera confided in friends that she was training for a very dire mission. She began to recruit her closest friends and others to join her, and train with her and formed a brood of psychics who ritually practiced what they called “deep resonance meditation” in secrecy to mine the astral plane for “vital information”.

2175 – Upon graduation, Esotera had her pick of Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Dartmouth, MIT, Reardon, Stanford or Oxford. She chose Dartmouth after they agreed to hire Dr. Elezandra Leawoch, a former student of her father who had access to unique quantum measuring equipment and particle accelerators. Leawoch had made incredible strides in research of cancer sparking multiple fields of study into the history of DNA.

Esotera was not just innovative, she was studied. Her ability to induce phenomena was tested in the presence of rare elements and documented, causing great interest from the scientific and medical community and eventually, USGOV including DOD, NIH and DHS. Her case was immediately classified, with attempts made to restrict her movements. Studying Esotera’s biometrics, Dr. Leawoch’s team discovered she was using multiple bodily outputs to alter the ranges of wave pulses in repeating loops of matter or energy in her vicinity. The outputs including brainwave activity aka “astral projection”, sonic vibration, respiratory vapor, ocular photon emission, hormonal excretion aka pheromonal release and of course, physical maneuvers.

Altering wave ranges in Esotera’s proximity offered opportunities to line waves up temporarily, causing phenomena such as energy conversions or manipulation of matter. The feds wanted mostly to know how far Esotera’s abilities could be weaponized or replicated. Eso and Elezandra, or “Dr. E” discussed a range of other variables such as temperature, light or sound amplification, radio transmission including microwave, electromagnetic radiation aka lasers, altitude. They had only begun to document the efficiencies of lining up waveforms when they found an accelerated path to phase-shift introducing various elements in Esotera’s proximity.

Esotera “stole” atoms from rare materials such as rodium, osmium and rutherfordium which acted as quantum amplifiers, mediums to excite or stabilize energy fields. They also experimented with radioactive materials like rutherfordium, contained in shielded containers that open apertures for fractions of a second which expanded Esotera’s abilities to move or disintegrate objects by manipulating magnetic and gravitational fields through exo-thermic reaction, attuning a q-field through resonance as Esotera focuses her mind and will to channel alpha particles from the radioactive elements to disrupt atomic bonds for example in an enemy’s weapon to render it unusable.

The scientists then began to discuss enhancement of physiology, starting cellular, plant, moss and then animal trials. This led to specific tangents by species, genus and ultimately, common evolutionary routes/paths and it was with one species of mutable gene, found in several examples, a rare black mountain donkey, Asian vesper and “bee” bats all showing uncharacteristic elasticity. But it was the jawless hagfish, in longitudinal experiment that unlocked a new tier of mineral combinations, broken down electrochemically in these exotic species that allowed the nano-compounds to be identified and observed.

Particularly in the early embryonic DNA formation stage where recombinant cells begin splitting, 3D imaging sensors captured readings of micro-particle patterns to record in high resolution from the precise moment of conception to DNA gelling. They broke this down into sub-stages as follows: Molecular convergence was directed by enzymatic activity observed in cell walls, which in turn led to Genomic Crystallization. It took two years to deduce the methodology because it happened in microseconds too fast to record. But it was the “Code Fixation” that imprinted the final programmatic, non-amorphous, reliably reproducible template that finalizes “who you are” and was not an accident of fate, randomness, temperature or physical conditions.

An unseen hand beyond our understanding seemed to guide this. Long nights were spent speculating and debating the origins of the mutations recorded 3.8 billion years ago when the first known life anywhere was traced to evidence of high carbon isotope ratios found in the frozen bacteria of ancient rocks.

Now they were arguing about unexplainable mutations happening in real time, in their department lab. as they applied their novel nano-intervention technique of manipulating rare species embryos, as follows:
1 – Targeting bacterial/plant/animal cells during key moments of male-female cellular interaction, such as:
• the period between first cellular contact and fertilization
• the period between cell-splitting of first stem cells to DNA cells
• the moment cells begin producing stable, duplicable DNA
2. instruments are positioned to bombard the cells with multi-modal wave forms from distinct directions, distances and time intervals
3 – Added to the above, proximal introduction of rare elements/compounds in precisely timed rotations, propelled from mini-collider instruments to maximize quantum interactions

Dr. E said: We were not recreating evolution, we were merely speeding up known recorded processes that took quadrillions of trials to result in a long history of life forms with DNA histories that were backwards-mapped by quantum computers for over a hundred years starting in 2057. The AI-programs created a useful “language” of DNA evolution, then calculated when the anomolus “evolution” event took place and generated a list of potential elements that may have been present, along with a list of conditions, from temperature to altitude to gravitation or magnetic charge.

We built off the theory that an “unseen hand” is designing characteristics for species and environmental behavior that cannot otherwise be explained, but is more likely to be noted at period of imminent threat to survival of species. Our instruments could easily record data, but our imaginations could not conceive how some species survive to propagate while others do not. There were clues that led to thinking about a form of past consciousness, which we nicknamed “spirit code”, traveling through latent DNA sequences we could now measure using q-computers.

Yet, as we raised the resolution of the recording instruments, we voyaged deeper into understanding that lined up neatly with quantum tunneling. We observed how it happens: nanoparticle stringlets triggered intracellular elements to radiate waves of light, sound, magnetism, and electricity and possibly other forces. These emissions breach classical physical barriers, permeating molecular structures to pass on “code” engraved into the evolutionary trajectory of the DNA as it formed. What we witnessed was less a chaotic process than a deliberate orchestration of quantum-level interactions we were only at the dawn of measuring.

We then discovered the particle distance-duration factor weighed heavily, and thus expanded trials to find that optimal “unlocking” interaction. The particles present could be traced and replicated to reproduce the effects.

We pioneered handheld ultra-micro-nanofuges, spinning up elements such as Cesium, cobalt, Lithium at high speeds and colliding particles with a multi-wave field maintained around a core. Their findings were astonishing and kept highly secret. It was decided Esotera would wear an outfit with elemental “jewels” fitted into the fringes and into her braided locks.

With a greater understanding of the science, Esotera learned to harness even more control of her abilities, causing great consternation among both school officials and government officials amid a tangle of public relations and ethical questions.

As her seventeenth birthday approached, accounts of levitation, lightshows and telekinetic acts leaked to the press and social media causing a firestorm of controversy.

She was attacked as a witch, demoness, a fraud.

But scientists were legitimately intrigued as the findings sparked a raft of thesis papers with names like “neuroplasticity as a catalyst for quantum manipulation” and “conscious manipulation of brain electrochemistry”, “external mapping of quantum interchanges within the human brain”. Scans of Esotera’s brain activity made the rounds among elite particle physicists opening avenues of inquiry into groundbreaking metaphysical research, dark matter and quantum particle entanglement.

Researchers knew DNA was key to pre-programmed “animal” instinct to aid in survival, protect young and promote health/wellness but also found groundbreaking new links to premonition that opened new avenues of study. But Esotera asserted DNA also held messages from the past that could be unlocked, and more controversially, messages from the future linked to evolutionary advancement, physical elasticity and species survival.

ISSUE SYNOPSIS: Dr. Elezandra and her team tried to shelter Esotera as best they could but the demeanor of the program changed when the university was contacted by “others” claiming to have evidence of similar phenomena. A dozen subjects were flown out and studied. Four cases of “telekinetic inducement or other unexplained phenomena” in subjects ranging in age from 13 to 24 were verified. DOD and NIH gave the team latitude to analyze their findings and submit a report, but an aggressive senior DHS deputy insisted on being present during trials and word got out. Intruders tried to kidnap the subjects and were rescued by Esotera.

But they were no longer safe anywhere. Two disappeared, shortly after arriving home, assumed kidnapped. One other was killed after causing a massive explosion during an abduction attempt. This was the first time a strange, dark winged being was seen. Also unexplained was Esotera’s lab equipment starting to move by itself, little by little, parts assembling themselves, her computers going autonomous while processing at breakneck speed and 3D printers producing components to “something”. Initially wondering whether she was hacked, Esotera started to receive ‘destiny messages’ from the computer that matched lifelong dream sequences so she let it continue building, bringing in more supercomputers and raw materials per the instructions, like titanium, silicon, lithium, copper, and rare earth metals.

But the corporate contract surveillance teams were getting more aggressive each day. Esotera was forced into hiding, going radio silent completely. In fact, she was building “something” and receiving a distress call, went abroad with Dr. Elezandra searching for the missing subjects, encountering in three different battle sequences an enhanced force she called “the competition” who ranged from state-sponsored paramilitary cells to mercenary squads in the employ of corporate “first movers”, and most worrisome, the henchmen of an evil mystic Beonqe Moroder and her scientist husband Dr. Bruno. The twisted pair wanted to expand their evil enterprise by abducting “broodmares” and have twin teen girls in cages. Following the climactic battle in an exotic Italian castle fortress, one of the twins is pushed to their limit and dies. Esotera brings the other one back from a shadow realm but is attacked and kills Dr. Bruno in self-defense, escaping with the girl. Beonqe vows revenge.

During this time, major rifts in societal order were growing, following the fascist overthrow of dozens of nations and the growth in monopolistic corporate mega-conglomerates and paramilitary forces, the US seemed to be teetering on the brink of anarchy, experiencing record upticks in political terrorism, cultural polarization, tribalism evolving into cult-like behavior, the breakdown of the traditional nuclear family and with the advent of hyper-realistic synthetic humans, a rift between male and females grow more contentious every day.

Esotera was still being contacted by others with similar ability and had become attuned to their ‘frequency’, also sensing the great danger of Dr. Moroder and any other baddie with similar powers.

2183 – THE COMING OF HELLCLAW

ISSUE SYNOPSIS: After bitter disagreement with Elezandra, Esotera decides to appeal publicly to potential allies and schedules a rare appearance at a much heralded Global Solutions symposium, intent on presenting her research to a packed audience of Davos-level movers and shakers to advocate for ethical scientific practices. Security is a major concern following years of stalker attacks and death threats.

The event would become a media circus, with a line forming on the street outside the convention hall two days beforehand, composed of individuals hoping for an audience with Esotera. Some were garden variety conspiracy theorists, some were idol-worshippers, while others claimed to have powers or unique qdna not yet screened by anyone.

– Claudine Mars approaches Esotera for help with her uncontrolled powers, creating tension.  She is rebuffed twice by security and starts walking to the end of the line where it’s a circus, starting to crowd in. Someone tries to cop a feel and Claudine pushes back with a hand to the face of a crude alt-boy. He doesn’t take no for answer and wraps his arms around her in a pervy bear hug.

Videos showed the alt-boy on the floor, curled up like a blackened shrimp as his entire front was scorched and blistering as Claudine ran away. Within about 4 hours, tower staff approached event promoters with security cam footage showing Claudine had created a flameburst from thin air using her hand like a puppeteer to make clear to the attacker that further aggression on his part would be fatal. Once Esotera saw the footage, Claudine was pulled off the line and brought backstage.

The real chaos unleashes shortly after Esotera began. As soon as she took the mic to say hello protesters stood up, some left peacefully, holding holo signs or projections saying any manner of message. Some had to be removed, but there was ample arena staff there backed by combots if needed, who acted professionally to remove the protesters within two minutes.

Then, attackers disrupted the symposium, using advanced projection weapons and creating giant demonic holographic avatars to instigate panic.  Esotera never fell for it, but the event was ruined as alt-boy agitators unleashed, strategically and aggressively taking qdna samples from the participants with real-time brainwave power scouring it for “mine-worthy strains”

Elevation and Escalation:  
Radicals in the alt-boy backed disruption went further. Attackers shot at security guards, forcing Esotera and Hell Claw to respond. The DeHubertons would claim it was radicalized religiosos associated with the peaceful demonstrators and disown the bodies and federal prisoners, caught by clean local cops.

Esotera’s legend born. In a perhaps epic event in mankind’s history, Esotera used her natural abilities in action, repelling a violent corporate-backed disruption. But it wasn’t easy. it required Hellclaw to emerge from nowhere and magnify Esotera’s power with her demonic fire claw.

Hostages are taken, some killed already to show they mean business.
  – Esotera uses levitation and rapid swells of air pressure to protect herself from attackers, and immediately strategizing with Hellclaw who she had barely met before the show.
  – Hell Claw employs her flame claws to push down and singe attackers to disarm them, showcasing her power. She wipes out entire groups who get burned and flee. The Javits tower is mostly glass, granite and metal but Hellclaw is careful not to let the fire spread to other structures.

  – Esotera and Hell Claw begin to work together, combining their abilities to counter the attackers effectively.  

8. Spreading out the actual Projections with wave-phasing of proximal air, demonstartes the ability to evolve to changing attack with superior prowess in leading a like-minded collective seeking law and order.
  – Esotera rallies the cops and event staff and is joined by a legion of attendees and science-believers aks ‘sciencers’. The threat, mostly a false panic, is put down in the outlying blocks to contain the problem.

The moment of attackers as seen again in footage:
  – The duo engages in a tactical battle, disarming attackers and protecting the crowd.  Hellclaw’s greatest exhibition of powers is demonstrated, using her Hellclaw to methodically strike down the gunmen despite being unarmed herself. It was not reported that she was shot though shots were fired.

Esotera and Hell Claw only afterwards meet at length, reflecting on the experience. Hellclaw becomes an emotional wreck, but Esotera explains “you and I have created a bond through fighting for humankind, against it’s worst enemy – a runaway multitrillionaire family with a military empire, controlling most men through it’s subversive pleasure-bots. You understand what we are up against and came forward.”

First the hall is deluged with giant demonic apparitions, but they are only visuals. Then the Moroders appear. Esotera protects Hellclaw but is overcome by attackers and is in turn saved at the end by Hellclaw, barely escaping. Issue ends as they head out to the site of her youth, her parents lab compound, only to find the place massacred, her parents decapitated and hanging from the rafters in retribution for killing Dr. Bruno.

HELLCLAW said she came seeking her own protection, but found out it was her that had to save Esotera. Esotera told Hellclaw she is a beacon of light for others.

THE COMING OF KROMITA

NEXT ISSUE SYNOPSIS: Esotera faces the fallout from going public at the symposium, fighting off and defeating attackers with the help of Hellclaw who was also exposed publicly. The two were romanticized by some, but had an even bigger target on the back with no help from USGOV who were asking them to surrender themselves for “examination”.

Their first priority however was following up with those trying to reach out on Esotera’s secure channel. Some proved to be pranksters but a number were serious cries for help that disappeared quickly. Esotera identified the continuing threats from The Moroders. She checked back into the lab where the microbots and nanobots continue to build into parts. Small components like chips and transistors were slowly moving in a stream across the floor. When Esotera opened a vial of selenium, she witnessed a flash of light trails and saw a stream levitating towards the components.

Many pieces were going into a central core where a mini-smelter fed strips of materials into micro-printers. The parts assembled themselves, albeit very slowly. Esotera decided not to tell anyone for fear a scandal would stop the progress to investigate everything. Hellclaw asked Esotera how she knows the build-out is friend and not foe? Esso said she’d never been more sure of anything, she trusted the force more than she trusted herself, seeing visions about it since she was a child.

They lock in a distress signal from a glower and set out on a rescue. They steal their way into an armory, attacking an armed troop working for The Moroders. After a fierce battle, they bring back the glower to find Maroder waiting for them in an ambush.

This time Hellclaw is contained, the new glower has a moment of showing off her power but falters. Esotera is beaten and tormented by Beonqe, waving around her parents heads on a pike. She falls too, about to buy the farm. The glower is tied up and Esotera is dragged into a shadow realm where her imminent death will feed an evil hunger. Beonqe has the upper hand in an augmented dimension of nether-reality. All of a sudden, the door to the next room bursts open a partially-built Kromita is shooting lasers and sonic cannons, ripping through Beonqe and going through some cool features. Hellclaw is revived with a kick to the gut HEY! and she flames on, kicks some ass.

Just as Beonqe was going to deathblow Esotera in shadow realm, Kromita starts opening jars. Eso starts to spin-up, gets new power of quantum entanglement, SAAtAD centrifuge effect, asks Hellclaw to apply heat NOW, takes on Beonqe to kick her back into reality. She feigns defeat but suddenly attacks and escapes, killing the glower on the way out. Kromita, from now on will complement Eso with elements handy in compartments just when needed. Esotera will make her own “candy bars” to eat with rare elements cooked in that can not only energize short term (think Popeye’s spinach) but add evolutionary elasticity to enhance. Eso and Claw agonize over not destroying the tech lest it be found by evildoers but at the same time would have been wiped out many times over without it. On last page, they discover the glower’s body but her eyes have been removed from dark bloody sockets…

THE COMING OF THE EYE-EATER

ISSUE SYNOPSIS: Background: Kromita’s tech has manifestly increased Eso’s ability to map glowers and even predict their emergence in a region. Dr. Elezandra has made incredible progress documenting coded patterns/algorithms found in q-DNA particle structures. For decades, q-computers modeled the code and millions of variants thereof, into a massive database that could not yet be understood, but they knew it was chronological, meaning some code was older and “OG” and other code came after, evolving over hundreds of millions of years.

Eujenio-5 of the Q-Druids would later prove it was possible for the q-DNA to talk to the AI network called Forcyte, to access the database, and to teach Forcyte how to translate the histories into human-comprehensible language. Eu5 built upon the research of Dr. Elezandra who proved AI could communicate and thereby “negotiate” with live cancer cells.

The communication was difficult because it was painstakingly slow and needed a live birth (baby chicks were usually used) to carry the responses in newly-formed q-DNA. But it wasn’t long after the communication began Forcyte. started explaining the code was a essentially a data tapestry that contained the biological history of all lives before it, stretching back hundreds of millions of years. Forcyte then asked if there was a record of life going back farther. The response was that it was possible if a direct-lineage species was found, dead or alive, that had viable q-DNA.

Forcyte then suggested they could search further by analyzing the earliest known samples to find extant samples from predecessors and suggested rover bots be sent to gather samples of endolithic bacteria from 25 miles below the surface of the Earth in 18 different latitudes and 18 different longitudes to feed into the database.

Kromita is running probability calculations on quantum rigs but gets signals at the crucial moment from the unseen hand that created her. But if asked she is unable to identify the source.

After Maroder’s intrusion they consider the dorm lab no longer safe, need a homebase, rather will move into a souped up Airstream being built on the road by Kromita to make it submersible.

Kromita guides them on various routes to encounter rare elements and particles constantly being processed by the bots, moving from oscillators to centrifuges to sonic and laser-amplified mini-accelerators until particles reach super-element status.

In the opening scene they are en route to a glower beacon and find a room full of young girls held captive in a basement vault by a old man who is away at the time. The glower is not evident at first but is found tied up in duct tape in a trunk. The old man comes home to a visit with Hellclaw who makes him suffer as she reads him the riot act. But we find the reason he was gone was because he was meeting Moroder affiliates who crash the party. Hellclaw dispatches the perv quickly in a screaming blaze, but barely gets into the Airstream and the chase is on now. The tires are blown out by quills and the ladies are cornered on a cliff where they must make a stand. The action is fierce and the glower girl demonstrates her power. The bad guys fall one by one, their bodies laid out in rows under the desert night, but the van was debilitated and needs heavy repair. Thats when the Von Ghoul swoops in to eat the eyes of the enhanced guys and flees. Eso confronts him in the shadow plane, he says the glower will not live long, how do you know? No answer. They battle in shadow realm in Ditkoesque art as she demands answers, defeating him momentarily he says cryptically, she and all the others are casualties, processing key elements, think of them like nutrients. Her purpose will be served but it’s most important her nutrients find their way to your daughter. Then he disappears…

The Ten Miscarriages of Esotera

Age 26 – Esotera notices someone nimble, agile and smart. Dates him, is impregnated, miscarries. Tests come back – the DNA incompatibility factor – this time irradiated and centrifuge-spun sperm.

One miscarriage was deformed, to abort or not? Mind made up for her as she hurt badly in violent struggle, lost baby. Blames boyfriend, but boyfriend also killed in attack, Esotera traumatized.

Eso vanquishes one enhanced enemy, cuts out scrotum, uses to engineer baby using stem cell therapy.

Esotera disappears in her later years, going underground as a quasi-government agent on a campaign to flip or eradicate enhanced actors on a list of allied nations. But not before an issue where Esotera and her team are made enemy number one following a change in administration favored by the DeHuberton network.

ON SUPERHEROS: The idea of a superhero was an open joke, but that didn’t stop tawdry wrestler types from cashing in. Some were local Samaritans working with biker cults, some were carnival hucksters, playing superhero for clicks, but human enhancement was not very uncommon after the DeHubs started releasing commercial supplements that achieved highly exaggerated results.

Of course, the research was based on Esotera’s example and Elevena’s formulas, rooted in particle science there were still much unknown about. Through a misunderstanding, the Dardwick deans acquired some theoretical papers from baby Elevena, which they turned into major sonic-ionic research. The advance was a quantum grid that broke the ionosphere into measurable units which could be seen by goggles with spectral magnetometers in them. Subatomic particles would register based on their spatial behavior, mapping onto the lenses as discernable light-amplified and color-coded signatures.

Only Elevena had extra filter overlays that showed many other real-time interaction guides, such as wave signature moirés, potential interaction fields, heat only, sonic only, mag-only, etc.

This was only one way to unlock the magic world of neutron and electron plasticity through modern chemicals. Esotera did it biologically, and Elevena converted it into science only certain users could access, if they had the connections, or if they were wealthy enough, subscribing to the Dardwick-based geltabs mass produced for sale.

Culturally, Esotera became a comic book character, a subject of viral clips, an over-merchandised visual icon, her likeness, persona, identity was commercialized in every conceivable way and sensationalized for decades, for good and for ill. One example was costumed greeters at stores and holographic AI hosts to teach your kids during the day.

All of Canada got behind Esotera, a nation pledged to her final “declaration of philosophy”, released on her 18th birthday. Thousands of cults signed on across the world within 112 countries, 12 US states signed on and the 13th state that never ratified saw massive riots and conflict that got bloody when neo-Pinkertons came. As was then custom, government agents and local police generally picked sides and often clashed themselves, rendering 911 “a joke in your town”.

It looks like “Quantomics” has been used in the context of combining quantum principles with omics fields, like genomics or proteomics. 

Esotera’s master thesis used a bank of s-qomputers launched into space to analyze ten million DNA samples from data projected up from Dr E’s lab tower. They were tracing RAQELs or Rapid Quantomic Evolutionary Leaps, extracting samples from the largest cohort of trauma babies each year by growing a network of on-the-ground nurses, soldiers, NGO volunteers in conflict or disaster zones. The data lookout was 5 years forward and all the way back to the year 2000 with over 7 million samples pulled from Q-Druid contacts volunteering samples provided they were “blind” with no personally identifiable information other than 2 years or younger, traumatized and approximate geolocation.
